Iâm Lia Trebilcock, and I understand exactly what it feels like to sit in front of a client and not have all the answers.
When I started in the industry in 2002, I thought my qualifications had prepared me. However, when I began treating real clients, I realised how much I didnât know. Although my training covered the basics, it didnât teach me how to navigate the complexities of chronic skin conditions or connect external concerns with internal influences.
I wanted to give my clients more than generic solutions; I wanted to understand why things were happening in their skin and create treatments that genuinely worked.
That changed when I opened my own clinic and worked alongside Naturopaths, Corneotherapists, and advanced Skin Therapists. I saw firsthand how nutrition, gut health, hormones, medications, and lifestyle choices shape the skin as much as products and treatments.
Fast forward 20+ years, and Iâve proudly taught over six thousand professionals around the globe, bringing a naturopathic lens to skin science and redefining how our industry approaches skin health.
Through Skin Education International, I teach what I wish I had learned from the start - a more holistic understanding of skin that allows therapists to stop guessing and start treating with clarity.
